Trollfallet - Hunderfossen, Lillehammer

Hunderfossen Familiepark’s core theme is the fairytales and folk lore of Norway, and in continuing to develop this story-telling strategy a new attraction was required to be installed inside their beautiful castle for the park’s 25th anniversary. The Trollfallet concept was jointly developed by FAD and the park’s management team. Trollfallet is a dark preshow and free-fall drop ride, following a traditional folk story of a prince and princess taken prisoner by the trolls – the visitors must attempt to rescue them from the top of the tallest tower. Each time the visitors get near, the trolls come after them and they have to try again.

FAD supplied the attraction design, theming, sound, lighting and animatronics; the ride system is by ABC Rides of Switzerland.

FAD has developed a number of dark attractions around free-fall drop rides, including the very successful Extremis ride in the London Dungeon.
